I've known lots of people that have had children while in their teens. Myself, I found out I was pregnant when I was 17 and had my son when I was 18. What would you like to know? Feel free to contact me.

I was a teen mother. I had a kid when I was 18 and then another when I was 19. It is hard. But parenting generally is. You have to do the bottles, the 12, 2, 4 and 6 am feedings and LOTS AND LOTS of dirty and a few clean diapers. Plus if you stay in school like you should; then you have all of your school work, papers, exams and all that FUN stuff. You loose your social life, unless your friends don't mind hanging out with a newborn, where there is no loud music, you can't just drop everything and go somewhere. You have to pack a diaper bag, and a stroller; make bottles, make sure you have plenty of clothes for the baby and all. I hope this helps you out.

My best friend had her baby when we were 16. She got pregnant when her mom left her home alone everynight while she was working. She kept the baby and raised him and loves him more than life, but she's had a hard time. Of course the baby's dad doesn't help out much. They haven't been together since the baby was about 2 and he is 8 now. She didn't get to do normal teenager things. She was at home taking care of a baby. Now, we are 24 and since her son is older and will go and stay with her mom or dad, she like to party a lot and sometimes hangs around with people a lot younger than her. Her son acts up at school. When he was little she had trouble discliplining him and now it shows. Teens can be good parents, but they have such a challenge.

I hate to say this, but I had two friends that had babies as teenagers (16 and 18) and both of their children turned out really well. For some odd reason they both did a great job and they had smart, well behaved children. Don't know why. However, they both struggled as parents, because they were still going through highschool and college and were not able to provide their children with the things and time and they wanted to. They worked very hard at jobs and school and really missed out on some of the fun that they should have been having. I often think that if a girl is even thinking about getting pregnant or is careless with birth control that they should come spend a week with me and my 3 children and that will straighten them out. They don't realize that your entire life (minus nap time right now) is devoted to raising children. It changes everything. Don't know if any of this helps, but....

Well, I have a friend that had her daughter when she was 13...I would say that is way to young (and it is), but if this woman wouldn't have had her at 13 then my daughter wouldn't have her best friend right now....the 13 yr old is now 25. But her daughter is now 12 and that gives my 12 year old a best friend.....but the 12 yr old girl is being raised by her grandmother and has been since birth....any other questions? Oh, and I have an older sister who had her first daughter at 16...now I have a younger sister, who is now 16 to date.
