I want to buy a birthday gift for my daughter when she turns one, but not something so expensive that my wallet breaks. My mother did this for me, and I still had the pearl earrings, but I lost one of them inside my house. I don't want to make her feel guilty if she loses them. What is the best place or site to look for these items. Bracelet, ring, earrings, necklace.

I'm doing this so she can grow up with these pieces from when she had them as a baby and can give them to her child.
Starting at a young age isn't bad, I appreciate getting them as a baby. It's traditional in my family

That is also a tradition that our Family holds dear! You should try Jewelry Television. They have some adorable Children's' Jewelry. I have shopped there for the last 5 years! At first I was very weary of them. Since they offered a 30 day money back guarantee, I thought I'd give them a try. It was the best decision I've ever made! Over the years, I have kept 99% of what I have purchased. Any items that I sent back were only returned because I can be quite picky.

Tip:
If you decide to give them a try, and would like to buy something from them, first go to Yahoo! and search for "Jewelry Television Coupon". Almost always you can find a coupon code for 10% - 20% Off!

Matching gold lockets that hold small pictures of her parents on one side and her on the other. One for her. (To be kept locked away. You don't want her to choke.) and a matching one for the mother. Inscribe birth name & date on the back.

Pierce ears and have little diamond, gold, or her birthstone earrings set in 14 kt. gold.

A silver or gold 10 kt. or 14 kt. charm bracelet, that links and charms can be added to year by year with a bracelet guard.

My mother got my daughter a charm bracelet and every year ( along with her gift) she gets a new charm for it. There are all sorts of things 6 little things to be exact. My daughter has started to wear it now and is looking forward to the next charm.

It's too dangerous for a baby to wear jewelry, except for earrings. Why not buy her something and then just keep it until a special birthday, like Sweet Sixteen?

Buy something you would expect her to wear as an adult, My mother bought me a large oval locket and she engraved her mother's name, hers and mine in it and I have never taken it off except to clean it, and Grandmere bought a little gold baby ring to match which is on my pinky even now. Buy those things and save them in your safety deposit box untill she is 16, then give them to her. Right now just buy her a toy to play with, but later, save your money, get the nice jewelery when you can save and buy the best you can afford.

A close friend of mine bought her daughter a gold bracelet for about $30 at one of those booths in the mall and most jewerly stores have them too for not too much money they make them small for little ones to wear and when they get bigger you can resize it. They are so cute on!

An ID bracelet is always nice for a small child. Engraved with her name and maybe her date of birth, it makes a nice keepsake.
