8) Most my social interaction came from the classes I took on a public school campus. I even found some great Christian friends who lived really close. One of them is over at my house almost every day (or vice versa)
10) When I was in 6th grade my mom sent me to a public school for elective courses. The school was very accepting me and I even found a couple of other people who were homeschool there too.
11) I loved the proximity to home. Every year my mom would ask me if I still wanted to be homeschooled and every year I said yes.
12) I never had a lot of friends my age till I started taking classes on a public campus.
13) No. I had a very well rounded education, that went along with the public's but even went into our religious aspect of it.
13) Most places these days are very accepting to homeschoolers. It's even said that homeschoolers have a higher education.
14) Definitely. But, like my mom, I might send them to a public campus for just a couple of classes.
15) Washington.

8) I met a lot of my life-long friends through a monthly homeschool roller-skating day that our support group organized, but I also met a lot of people though the music and historical groups I was involved in.
9) The style of music I was interested in (fiddle) was not available in schools so we would have sought out the same resources either way. No matter what instrument or style of music your child is interested in, it is easy to find private teachers in your area and they can help you get into the greater musical community. I went to two school dances with friends who were in public and private schools. Though some states allow you to participate in your school district’s extra curricular programs, where I live you don’t have to, because there are homeschool formal dances, bands, debate teams, sports, and graduation ceremonies.
9) Being able to go at my own pace, get the work done, and have time for the thing I wanted to do.
10) I know it sounds silly, but I always wanted to have a microscope and we never got one, so I had to do all the science experiments that involved probability and growing things, which just aren’t as fun as they could be.
11) I think I might have enjoyed hearing the thoughts of other students on certain subjects, again, not in something like math, but maybe a subject like literature where you can expect an exchange of ideas. However, from talking with my public school friends it didn’t sound like there was a lot of that going on anyway, and that the environment that so many people extol for its social advantages sometimes tended more to distract from education.
12) So far there have been no problems
13) Homeschooling is not for every parent, family, or child, and I think you have to have everyone on board to make this work. I believe that it can be a very beneficial method, but I also know that it is a huge sacrifice both personally and financially for the parents that do it. I would feel obligated to my children to at least offer them the same options that I was given.

8) Probably at My Religous meetings.
9) I really like the freedom. Plus all the different course options.
10) Hmm...Probably just wondering what it would be like going to regular school. What would have happended if I would have stayed in regualr school. But yet I have no doubt about homeschooling.
11) I really did not miss out on the experience cause I was in regualar school for Pre K-4th So I did get 6 years in. I would not trade the six years in public school for anything. It was awesome. Yeah, I do feel like sometimes I miss out on stuff. Pretty much the whole entire thing. You know the atmosphere. Yet I do not miss people acting bratty/idiotic, and stuff.
12)Not really. If you have the right program you should be fine.
13) hmmm....I would want to put them in school for Pre-K through at least 2nd grade. Then talk with them about it. I mean have a serious discussion. Mom and I were planing to actually homeschool me at 2nd. Then 2 days before school started I got the jitters and asked mom to call the school and put me in a class. She told me it was no biggie and put me back in.
14) Kinda do not want to give that out. Sorry. :-(
Have fun homeschooling!! If you need anything send me a message and I will try and answer it the best I can. I love talking to people about homeschooling.
OH, and I forgot to say that I take Hip Hop dance class once a week. If you homeschool you MUST put your children in a class. It is a lot of fun!

Answering for my daughter, who's 8 -
8) Once a week school with several friends, once a week park day, once a week dance and soccer, 2-5 field trips per month, 1 skating day per month. Mom also teaches horseback riding, so several times per week have kids over taking lessons and she has made several close friends with neighboring public schooled kids that way.
9) Many opportunities available within homeschool groups or take advantage of after-school activities. Some districts in our state allow part-time attendence so kids can do some classes at the public school - our district does not allow this.
9b) She says she enjoys time with mom and dad and her free time to explore her intersests - playing pretend and being with friends.
10) When asked she will only say that homeschool is the greatest and that's final.
11) She attended Montessori for preschool-K, and missed one of her teachers there.
12) Wish there were part-time options available in our school district. State testing can be a hassle because it is poorly organized for homeschoolers and a chaotic environment to test in. Our state requires testing grades 3-9.
13) NA
