You probably would lose a lot of weight, but you would probably get sores in your mouth and on your stomach lining because it has so much acid. Any diet that you only eat one thing is never a good diet. Try doing something sustainable, like eating more fresh fruits and veggies every day for the rest of your life. It's easy to keep weight off that way.

The 'diet pineapple' myth was caused by the discovery of an enzyme (concentrated in the hard fibrous core) it contains, which interferes with digestion.
Throughout history, ways have been found to either stop you from eating (amphetamines were developed in the 1920s to suppress appetite), or to stop you from getting nutrition from the food (recent 'starch blockers' & 'fat blockers' do this).
The problem with all of these, is that nutrition from food is essential for staying alive. What's more, FREQUENT nutrition is essential for staying healthy.
The nutrients in a pineapple are good for you. The enzyme is usually responsible for upsetting your stomach if you eat the centre of the fruit. That's why it's normally cut out and thrown away (or boiled down in cooked dishes, so that the heat can destroy the enzyme).
Adding plenty of fruit to your diet will provide Vitamin C and Fibre, as well as a lot of other nutrients. These will help you to lose weight in a healthy, gradual way, so that you take six months or more to lose a stone, and don't provoke emergency reactions within your body.

It's quite likely. However, here in Brazil, fresh pineapple is a traditional cure for a hangover, which really works! A tip: don't throw away the peel. Cut it into pieces, put them in the blender with a little water and then, drain through a sieve. This is an amazing tonic, under any circumstances. From Rio de Janeiro, from someone who has pineapples growing in the garden.

Well with the constant running to the toilet (dreadful diarrhea )and the heartburn or acid reflux you would get from such an acidic fruit you are bound to lose some weight but I doubt you could lose a STONE!
And as soon as you go back to normal eating you'd REGAIN that and MORE!
You will end up pretty miserable and could end up with a permanent ULCER!
It would also cost as pineapples and TOILET ROLLS aren't cheap!!!!!
But if you are STUPID enough to try it - let us know if it worked!

I very much doubt if you'd loose a stone but you would get very bad stomach ache as pineapple contains enzymes which brake down food and if you ate nothing but pineapple it would turn on the lining of your stomach (the start of an ulcer might develop) So eat little and often and not just one thing.

Bitter, if you ate just pineapple for a day your tongue would be so sore..... Dont believe stuff like that. Eat sensibly, but just less of it, and exercise. A stone is too much to lose in a week, anyway.

Don't know about losing weight, it is probably true though because when I eat too much pineapple I get a sore tongue which makes is hard to eat anything else until the tongue has healed.

Maybe...but you'd only put it all back on again the week after!
These fad diets do NOT work long term. Put the time and effort in and you can achieve the body you want. By next summer you could be strutting your stuff with pride on the beach!

It would depend on your body and metabolism...as fruit contains a lot of natural sugar. If your body could handle that then maybe but it could back fire. You may lose a stone but maybe not in fat as the sugar from the fruit could be stored as fat by your body's panic response.
