You sound like a pretty mature and reasonably sane young lady. So I think you know yourself what you should do. Look past the colour barrier, I wasn't aware that it still existed today, and go out with this young guy if you are comfortable with him. Who knows if you refuse to go out with him what experiences and emotions you may miss.

If you want to date him, date him just like you would a white guy. But know that depending on where you live, some people may look at your funny or maybe even make a comment. And you may find out things about your parents that you didn't know. But if you have a strong personality and don't let things like that bother you, go ahead. Find out what things you have in common, what movies you like, music, etc. That will ease some of the pressue you may feel if you find out you have a lot in common.

It's no big deal here in the big city, but if you're in a small town, you may get a few ******* making comments. Either ignore them or tell them to bite you.

Who care as long as you are happy. I'm white and my mother and grandmother are racist. Which limits my choices on who I can date. I tell the guy that I don't care what they think but the black guys understandibly have a problem with it. Some black girls may have a problem with it and some white guys may have a problem with it too. If his family is okay with it and yours things go pretty smoothly.

You know what they say about black men...As long as your father is not the leader of the Aryan nation or in the KKK you should be ok.I've never been with a black man.Have been with a black woman and she was wonderful.I live in an area where there are about 10 black people total so have limited opportunity.Men are men skin color means nothing.

Go out with him if you like him. We are not all the same. We do come from different cultures and different communities. But as human beings, the color of our skin is only an evolutionary display of variety. We are all actually so genetically related that we litterally are the same family. But remember, treat this relationship like any other. Stick to your values and all will be well.

How do your family and friends take it? What do his family and friends think about it?
Remember you don't just date the person, you indirectly date all his/her relitives and friends.
Be careful you might be stirring up a hornets nest.
When I was in college I was going to make a move on a black chic. We were walking together from one building to another. Suddenly there were a dozen black guys around her forcing me away from her.

Relationships are about two people. The interracial part is about how you are viewed by others and does not matter in the least.

Be happy and date who you want to date.

People are people. I am white & my wonderful boyfriend of many years is black. Jerks come in all colors. I have a blog on my 360 page about this topic. Don't miss out on dating a great person . . .

What does it matter? If you have things in common, have fun together and find each other interesting, go for it.
Go out on a few dates and try each other out. These days race should not be factor as so many people are of mixed race anyway.
Love knows no color!
