Last night, I was on my way to home and I saw $5 bill on the street. It was late and nobody was there, but somehow I just passed by and didn't take it. I don't know why. Maybe I was scared, or feel guilty...? What would you do if you saw money on the street?

You're not stupid, but it sounds like you have, if possible, too many morals. Seriously, why would you feel guilty? Someone else will have picked it up who it also didn't belong to. I found a £5 at school once and handed it in, since then I've decided never to do it again. I found £10 the other day. The way I see it, if you have no way of returning it to it's owner, keep it.

If I knew that nobody was around to claim it, I would've picked the $5 up. So what if you didn't though. You were trying to do the right thing so you wouldn't feel guilty. Hey, maybe it's good that you didn't pick it up...what if somebody was waiting in the dark to jump you??? Just a thought. Don't worry about it. If it were $100, then I'd have to pick on you!

I have a habit of scanning the ground when I'm outside. I consider myself pretty lucky, but perhaps it's just observation. It is questionable whether or not to keep the money if you saw the person drop it, but if it's just laying there it's YOURS! They don't come with return addresses or lo-jacks! Don't lose a second of sleep over something like that unless you're independantly wealthy and it wont help you. Even in that case, you could always donate it.

your a sweet girl... cash is cash no way to trace it and since its a small amount its a little pointless to look for the owner POCKET IT! However if it was in the 50's-100's more than likely you can call local authorities and See if anyone has made a claim for the area and the denomination. I have a friend that lost her rent money and someone as nice as you turned it in!!

If you find a wallet or ID turn them in purse same thing I believe in Karma so take what the sky gives you but there are rules to this sort of thing! ;)

I do not think you are stupid at all. However, picking up the bill would not have been wrong. If it was in someones home, yes it would have been, but if a bill is dropped in a public place, it is next to impossible to verify who it belongs to. In any event you refrained from picking it up for the right reason; because you wanted to do the right thing...good for you!

I would take it but before I would I would make sure no one was there. I would donate it to a charity or use it for something good because it was not my money in the first place. like the other day I went into a bounce house and I saw a five dollar bill, and I took it I told my mom and she said I could keep it. So while we were walking around I saw this charity for Burn victims the the firemen were holding and I took the five dollars that was not mine in the first place and I took it and gave to them and said here ya go.

The end!!!

finders keepers, you sound honourable, were are you from? Somelse found it and took it, its only $5. The person that lost it, will not miss it too much. Seriousely, money does not grow on trees, you find free money, u take free money. If you feel guilty and that someone else needed it more, give it to a charity, or something.

If you saw that no one was around you should have taken it. I bet the person who passed by after you picked it up. If I noticed that someone dropped their money I would let them know however if there's no one around and I didn't have a clue about who's money it was I would take it.

Are you stupid for not taking it?........yes.

I would take it. Good money should not go to waste. Afterall you do not know who the owner is and if left there someone else will take it anyway. So maybe you did the someone else a favor, maybe he needs it more. For the person who lost it, be more careful.

I think I would of picked it up and gave it to someone who may have needed it. But it's now stupid what you did. Maybe someone picked it up that really needed the money. Sometimes things just are meant to be.
