As the other answers suggest, a UTI (urinary tract infection) is caused by bacteria being introduced into your "pee hole" or urethra. This can be caused by bacteria on your hands or your partner's hands, by bacteria on the penis, or simply from wiping from back to front. You should always wipe from front to back, always wash your hands before and after using the bathroom, and never allow vaginal penetration after anal sex. Eating yogurt with cultured bacteria is a good way to help prevent the infections, because it replaces the normal "good" bacteria that your body normally has in that area. Drink plenty of fluids, especially water and acidic juices, such as cranberry, grapefruit, etc. If you get a UTI and the above measures do not clear it up in a couple of days, see a doctor for an antibiotic. Left untreated, UTIs can cause you to become septic, which can lead to shock and death, so do not ignore the symptoms. Your bladder is the gateway to your kidneys and bloodstream, so it is vitally important to take care of it. Symptoms of a bladder infection include pain, either in the lower abdomen or back, itching and burning with urination, elevated temperatures, frequently urinating in small amounts. Cloudy or foul smelling urine and a general feeling of being sick are also symptoms. Left untreated, you can become very confused and disoriented and do and say strange things. Your temperature can soar well over 100 degrees, and your body becomes septic, or infection all over the body.
The best way to avoid this type of infection is to drink lots of water, and wash your hands.

I got them (bladder infections, the most common type of UTI) a lot during my 7th grade year. It was really uncomfortable and rather embarrassing as one of my teachers was an asshole-- he only allowed us to go to the bathroom in his class once a week which isn't possible for someone with a Urinary Tract Infection. My doctor had to write me a note saying I was to be allowed to use the restroom when necessary because not doing so made the problem worse.
I was told to lay off the soda and to start drinking more water and cranberry juice. I still get them but I can feel them coming before they get too terribly bad. When I feel one coming on, I drink nothing but cranberry juice and water and it usually clears me up within a day's time.

Bacterial climbing up your wazoo (urethra) to your bladder - that is your urinary tract - causing infection, which is painful. You should urinate after sex to clear out any bacterial that may have been introduced. The toilet paper in public restrooms that may have been sitting unwrapped on the floor somewhere before you use it is a great place to get bacteria. When you age and the skin in the area thins due to lack of oestrogen you will be more susceptible too.

A UTI is an infection in the little tube called the urethra that removes the urine out of the bladder and releases it out of the body. It can be caused by something as simple as not drinking enough fluids thus not urinating enough or a piece of toilet paper that gets caught in the tube. Bubble baths will cause this too in girls.

A uninary tract infection is a bacterial infection in your urine. It usually starts with pain on one side of the stomache and continues to get worse. It can stem from infection in the kidneys to the ureter to the bladder and can get worse if not treated with an antibotic.

In concept, sure, a person would get a UTI from unprotected anal intercourse BUT such a lot guys have got to urinate after sex (as do females). That flushes the urethra out. Pretty inventive is not it? Even with consistent penis vagina sex there's a ton of micro organism reward. It's referred to as common flowers. Again why do you suppose all people has to pee after intercourse?? I in my opinion were acting backdoor on females for over 25 years with out condoms and I haven't begun to decide on up a UTI (or whatever else). A guy's urethra is routinely longer than a lady's is. Men get UTI's very once in a while to not often. If they do, it is while they're very historical and/or in diapers! Another fantasy dispelled....
