I occasionally have been known to eat standing up sometimes. against a tall counter, etc. My mother-in-law saw this one day and said "You should eat sitting down, it's better for you." Is it? or is it not? What's the big deal? I would think it would be healthier to eat standing up so it can go straight through your system. :-)

Standing or sitting is the same...
It is not good to lie down after you eat, becasue it slows down the consuption of the food in your belly.
have a great day!

I've heard that it's better to eat sitting down because you'll be less likely to eat in a hurry, and your food will be better able to digest.

When you eat standing up, you do not fill full as quickly as you would sitting down, therefore you may eat more standing up than you would sitting down.
