Find out if it's going to be inside or outside ... day or night .. and go from there ... nice slacks and a long sleeve dress shirt will usually always do .. my man hates wearing dress shoes so he'll wear new sneakers like old school Vans or something simple ... colors don't really matter for guys ... make sure to get the specifics on the wedding - if it's black tie .. then you better go black tie ... lol ... be sweet and dance with the single ladies ... watch for the ones who go for that bouquet though ... !

Well, proper attire would be a suit, but if you don't own one a nice dress shirt, tie and slacks would be appropriate. But if you think about it, to go out and purchase a sports jacket wouldn't be that much money, if you can afford it. And if you have a date you should have what ever you wear match what she wears. Usually the tie matches the color dress or shirt she picks out.

But since it is black tie, I would defiantly go with a suit. You don't want to stand out. I just got married and it wasn't black tie but it was a Friday night which means dressier then Sunday afternoon, usually, and my husbands uncle showed up in jeans and my sons grandfather showed up in a baseball cap. Neither of us were too thrilled with that, but oh well. Everyone had a great time no matter.

It just depends on the wedding. Is it laid back casual or like you said a Black Tie affair. Most guys tend to wear slacks, dress shirt, and tie. You really just need to check with the bride or groom to see. If her parents are black tie people, then u may want to rent a tux.

u will have to look at ur invite. it will usu list what the requirements are that day. a recent wedding i went to stated, "gentleman jackets requested."

u can also look to the tone of the invite as a clue. if it's pretty casual w/a beach theme, then no, u won't have to don a suit and tie. if it's more sophisticated colors w/raised letters and embossing, then chances are, ur soiree is fancier, and u will have to dress up.

if u r still not sure, u could always ask the bride/groom or the bridesmaids/groomsmen.

a good guide is to wear a pressed dress shirt and tie w/slacks on the bottom.

I would say a nice pair of slacks and a button up shirt. If it's black tie, a suit and tie would obviously be more appropriate. I don't really think any colors are out of the question, as various colors, especially as far as the shirt goes is very much in style.

Just keep in mind it's fall, so go with darker or jewel toned colors rather than pastels. ;)

you have to know if it is black tie or not.

if it is not black tie and it is still formal then a nice suit (with jacket) - no loud ties.

not so formal would be pants, dress shirt, tie (or you may get away with jacket -no tie)

less formal, no tie

it depends on the wedding! at my wedding all but 2 men had on suits of some sort, some didn't have ties though. the other two had on nice pants and button down shirts - and mine was a fairly laid back affair at my mother's house. you know what the family would expect from you as you are a friend of one of them i would guess (especially since you stated you are single - you're obviously not the date stuck wondering).

I would suggest wearing slacks and a collared shirt, maybe even suit jacket. Depending on who's wedding is would be how i would decide what to wear. If it was someone that I was close with, I would try to dress better. If it was someone that I didn't know all that well, just try to look the best you can.

a regular suit is usually fine for most weddings unless your actually in the family or in the wedding party itself then a tailored suit is needed or a tux if its a black tie wedding you MUST have a tux so I'd ask as soon as possible but if its not on the invitation as a black tie a suit will do just fine

If it is a black tie affair you will have to rent a tux. If not a suit and tie are a requirement. That is a dark suit, white shirt and a tie of a subdued pattern or a solid dark color. Remember weddings are great places to meet single women. Have fun.

try to find out what the proper attire is by asking sum one going to it. if you have not luck with that wear a nice collared shirt tucked in, nice slacks, nice shoes and you should be fine. you dont necessarily have to wear a tie, you're just a guest.
