It's cold, Rome is so much more fun in the summer! Everybody is out then in the streets, the atmosphere is great, terrasses and tons of fun, tan good looking people! You should go somewhere else in Dec.

We were in Rome last year in early Dec. It is raining half the time but Rome is very interesting. That's why we spent 12 days there. There are many places of interest. I also have the itinery and photos if these are of interest to you. If you go in the second half of Dec, the Christmas spirit is everywhere. But take care of the cold weather about 12deg C. Drop me an email if you have any queries. But if it is just a weekend, you may not capture all the goodies of Rome.

Cold. You need to dress warmly. The good thing about Italy in the winter and Europe in general is that you really escape the crowds. Prices also drop quite a bit.

It's cold enough for a light jacket and there's always the possibilty that it may rain. Great for walking around the sites though.
