Can he join the Army?

It's my cousin. He was convicted of drug trafficking.

Technically it is _possible_ to get a waiver. In practicality - no.

His waiver would have to be signed by a General. And that general will be asking some hard questions - such as: "What is it about this person that is so outstanding that we cannot get another equally-qualified applicant?"

I have not heard of anybody getting a waiver for drug trafficking. (The military is about as anti-drugs as you can get.)

Yes, felons can be waivered, depending on the type and severity of the felony. And I believe that the Army is the only branch to be doing this at the moment.

depends on what you done i was a navy recruiter. navy will waver you felon . like i said it depends on what you done as for army all i know they used to send me the felons i would see what i ould do about asking the navy for a wavier. either way you're not gonna get a very good job in the navy . but you can work you're way up to better .
