I have really dry skin in the fall and winter and heard that soap drys your skin and that a moisturizing body wash will help your body lotions work better and that the moisturizing body wash will help prevent your skin from drying out. But do body washes really cleans you as well as soap does?

You bet they do! I won't use anything but a body wash and a loofah, because the body wash doesn't leave a sort of sticky film like soaps can and mostly do. I did a comparison and that's what I experienced.

Olay body wash for very dry skin (gold lid) is great, and I highly recommend it.Use it with one of the Olay shower rinses, top off with a body oil (like Palmer's Cocoa Butter Body Oil ) and you are guaranteed to never have "lizard skin "again.

In the unlikely event that this routine doesn't do the trick for you, check the website

Keep shining! :-)

I love my body washes. I use a cream body wash periodically with a mesh sponge thingy and it works wonders to keep my skin really smooth and soft.

By the way after taking your shower, use your moisturizer on your body before you towel dry. The water on your skin will help the lotion absorb better.

Hope this helps. :)

Theoretically, the body wash is supposed to be able to clean better, as well as rinse away easier. Soap sometimes would leave residue on skin, and unless you scrubbed, it would not completely come off. With body wash, because it's already a gel form, it is supposed to rinse away easier, leaving no residue behind.
