is AD2(AW) a good rate qualification?

AD2 is a aviation mechanic 2nd Class, AW denotes that he/she has earned the Air Warfare pin.

I'm not sure what you mean by "good". This person is an E-5, two ranks below chief. Depending on age and time in service it's good.
