Where does this money go to?

Because we all have had cancer or know someone who does or are related to someone who does. You probably could name more people who have cancer than animals or women or children that you have seen being abused. So you give your money to help the biggest problem you see around you and skip the ASPCA and the Advocates Shelter. Here is my personal cancer list: 2 grandparents; mother; sister; sister-in-law; self; 3 very close friends who died young. I guess in a panic for the cure we are eager to throw our money at the Cancer Society. By the way, I don't give to them. There are other diseases that need the money more.

From your online name, it sounds like you are looking for companies to invest in that will turn a profit for you. The Cancer Society isn't one to make this kind of investment. However, if you truly care about advancing research in the field of cancer treatements, this is an excellent investment in improving the quality of human life.

I am a cancer survivor and a coworker lost a 20 year old daughter to cancer last evening. Unfortunately the advancements don't come fast enough for some people.

The money goes towards finding a cure for cancer, training for medical professionals, things like that. I also have a very significant family history of cancer and I know that the ACS is a great organization!
