Remember their families to. There are a ton of us spouses without our soldier. The are even more children without their parent(s). Duriring this holiday season try to help them out too. They may not be in harm's way but they are sacrificing too. Trying to keep the holidays normal and festive is especially hard this time of year. For soldiers the holidays are hard, for the families is is almost harder. Because we have to make the holidays a certain way for are children's sake. So please offer a kind word, a helping hand, or any kind of heartfelt gesture. Will you please try at least?

Yes, I will. And a thought for those who oppose our presence in Iraq..
I'm not a fan of the war or the politicians. I do, and think everyone in this country should, be respectful, thankful and compassionate to our soldiers and their families. The men and women are doing their JOBS. And, unlike you and I, have chosen to do their jobs to benefit the people of this country knowing it may cost them their lives, limbs, mental health. They do this without question and in spite of the danger. Their families support their loved ones out of love, not duty. They sacrifice out of love. I'm sure there are many family members and soldiers themselves who don't agree with the politics, but they continue to do their JOB. So, whatever your position politically, the soldiers deserve our loyalty, respect, prayers and admiration for the sacrafices they make on a daily basis while we get to be here on Yahoo Answers discussing it on a computer sitting in a chair, in a warm home. I don't know about anyone else out there, but sitting here I'm not concerned in the least that I may be shot or bombed or even get an uncomfortable chill. And no, I don't know any soldiers or any families of soldiers. I do, howerver, love this country and the life I enjoy as an American. You can't have it anywhere else in the world.

God Bless you and your family! If anyone is interested in a great program to send items to our troops, here is a website:

www.anysoldier.com

There are thousands of soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines who would love a letter or package this holiday season. You can make their day!

Speaking from personal experience, I can tell you that being overseas during the holidays is rough. I served 2 tours in So. Korea is the 90's. If you can't send items, at least send them a card. They all deserve our love and respect, not only during the holidays, but year round.

Thank you and your spouse for his service. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season and that all of you remain safe and whole during this festive time. God bless you and I will continue to pray for the safety of our soldiers and for the health and well-being of their families. A little early but have a very Merry Christmas.

We can best remember and honor our troops by vehemently opposing the Iraqi war. There are only two reasons we're there: 1) The Bush family has had a personal vendetta against Hussein ever since Desert Storm, and wants to 'settle the score'; 2) Dick Cheney wants all that OIL swimming underneath Iraq's sands so he and his Exxon-Mobil buddies can get richer and richer and richer. Honor our troops by writing your corrupt Congressman and telling him (or her) you want our troops to come home! -RKO-

Thanks to those of you who support us in the theater. Regardless of your political affiliation or feelings about the war, we really appreciate your compassion. Regarding "how to help", I recommend checking out www.anysoldier.com. But if you ask me what means the most:
-- nice letters and pictures (which brighten our day)
-- taking care of our families (which takes a load off our minds)
-- prayers (which keep us safe and secure.)

I don't agree with the troops being in Iraq at all. If you call that unpatriotic, then so be it, I would rather have the troops safe at home than die and suffer in a war that's based on lies.

Every American should thank the military members for their service for our country.

Yes. Of course stand by the troops. Wish that American blood is not shed over the whims of someone like Bush and his gang of wackos.
