Please take her to a veterinarian to make sure she doesn't have a urininary infection of some kind. The vet will also be able to help you understand the underlying causes behind this behavioral problem. One thing to be aware of is that cats require a very clean litterbox. If it's not up to "her standards" she may eliminate outside the box. Another thing to be aware of is that cats tend to urinate or spray when they feel their territory is "threatened" somehow. This could be due to the introduction of someone new to the household - another cat, a dog, a newborn baby, etc. It can also be due to some disturbance outside the home that the cat feels is a threat to her inside (like visiting cats from the neighborhood to your yard). Finally, it just may be that your cat is lonely and neglected and this is the only way she is getting any kind of attention.

Definitely visit your vet and make sure they ask you a series of questions to get to the root of the problem. I wish you the best.

Take it easy, honey. I'll try to help you here. There's could be a couple reasons why she's doing that. First, cats are very clean and picky. If her litterbox isn't being cleaned often enough, that could be why she's doing that. I have 2 cats and they have 2 boxes. I scoop them out twice a day. Once a week I empty them completely out, scrub them with soapy water, then put all new litter in them. Try keeping them more clean.
Did you change brands of litter? If you did, it could be that she doesnt' like the new one.
Or it could be that she's not feeling well, in which case, you need to take her to the vet. Another thing it could be is where her litter box is. They like their privacy when they go to the bathroom just like we do. If it's in a room where someone is likely to walk in, they don't like that either. Try these different things and see what happens. I'm sure one of them will work. Good luck!

well there are lots of things that could be going on with your kitty and a trip to the vet would be a good place to start. she could have a urinary tract infection, stones, problem with her kidneys or behavioural problem. did you move her litter box or change the litter? is there something else in the house that has changed (another pet, new baby, death) that could have upset her? take her to the vet cause they are the best place to rule out any medical prblems and help with behavioural

Usually cats house-soil because they don't have ready access to a litter box or the litter box is too filfthy to go in.

Why did the cat need to tell you when she had to go to the litter box? The litter box should be available for her whenever she needs it, and it should be cleaned every day.

She probably has a urinary tract infection. She needs access to her litterbox all the time.
