I'm from the south and we eat alot of rice and gravy. You can make a gravy with chicken, sausage, pork chops, steak. You just have to remember to start with a little sugar (teaspoon) on the bottom of your pot. Let the sugar melt and when it starts turning born throw your meat in and brown it really good on both sides. Here is when you add your onions and pepers and let them get soft. Once your meat is browned and your veggies are soft, just add water and cook for at least 45 min. season to taste. About 20 mins. before it's done add some cornstarch and water that you mix seperatly) and that sould thicken it up. When I'm cooking steak and gravy I like to add half potatoes (peeled).
