how do a 17 yr old girl decorate her room?

my walls a plain. i need 2 put something on them. also its a light blue color. my closet door is a sliding door white in color and wat do i put on it. i need 2 add a little punk, elegance and rocker feel .... k may b dats weird.... neways. plsssss help cuz b4 ma bday dats 29th of dis mth i need 2 decor ma room ......... u could also email me ideas i wont mind....... thanks

Go to Deck the Walls or a poster store. Pick some pieces you like, art, black and white photography, etc. You're getting to an age where you aren't going to want your room to look childish. Don't put stuff on your closet door. Choose some fun throw pillows with embellishments (Target, Wal-Mart). Also get rid of a bunch of clutter and use some nice silk flowers that reflect your personality (daisies-simple, sweet, orchids-exotic and sophisticated, gerbera daisies-vibrant and fun, etc.). Make little changes. Also, see if you can repaint your room if you don't like the color. Invite your girlfriends over for a painting party if your parents will let you. Painting is a really cheap way to change a room. Good luck!

If you are going to leave the house in a year or two for college or something, then do something totally crazy-and when you leave, paint it whatever your mom wants it.

I dont see light blue when I think of punk. Unless you paint the entire room....you are going to have to accessorize the room another way to get out the punk, elegance, rocker feel.

Ok, check this out....Maybe some white tiger or lepoard print -or even zebra- for pillow shams and maybe a bedskirt. Those are easy to make if you cant find them. Get or make a black (satin?) bed covering, like a duvet-you can stuff it with any old comfortor.

Get some dark blue -maybe satin and velvet- throw pillows to go on the bed, as well as some pillows in the white and black animal print.

If you have any favorite band/movie posters, or even pics of you and your friends, tape them on the walls and paint black frames -on the wall- around them! Make them look like the fancy curly kind, get it? like a sillouhette. Maybe put them on tilted a bit, to make them more fun to look at?

Get a set of glow in the dark planets and stars! Those are great when you go to sleep at night-and they are not visiable in the day. You could even put stars on the wall in patterns.

Slap some posters up! If you don't have money flip through magazines (rollingstone or other) and rip some pages out and slap em up! Be creative. You could also print out images off the internet of your favorite bands or celebs. You could print off your favorite quote in pretty lettering or if your parents don't care stencil a quote or lyric around the closet frame. Get some stickers or glow in the dark stars. Tack up a Cd booklet if it has some cool art or lyrics. Make some art (draw or paint) and pin it up. Stencil dark blue or black stars on your closet door. Use poster puddy (you can get it at a hardware store or probably a walgreens/cvs) if your 'rents don't want you putting holes in the wall. You could also put stick up photos of you, your fam, your friends, favorite places. Have fun and express yourself.
