Apparently the pressure is on young women everywhere that they have to be as skinny as inhumanly possible to be sexy, but end up being undesirable because they just end up looking dead. Conversely, being fat is also nothing to be ashamed about, because most of it is "genetic" anyway, and there's no point in trying to change who you are (even if that means succumbing to diabetes). Which is worse; being too skinny or being too fat?

I don't believe that genetics are the cause for "most" of the obesity problem. Here's more information. http://www.annecollins.com/lose_weight/weight-genetics.htm

Anyway, both conditions are bad for your health. I would say that anorexia is worse. People can recover from obesity, although very difficult. I have never seen a person who had anorexia not look like they are still on the verge of anorexia. Once a stick, always a stick.

Being too skinny can kill you and being too fat can kill you, so the way I see it, better to be a normal weight. Most obesity is not "genetic". Less than 1% of the population has it in their "genes" to be obese. No one's genes make them bigger than about a size 8 (for women), so if youre bigger than that, you're doing something wrong. Conversely, if you taller than 5'3" and smaller than a size 2, you might doing something wrong as well.

obesity is the bigger problem. Our society is HUGE!! We were taught to clean our plate and if we are good we can have a cookie. We were taught wrong and now we are paying for it and passing the "tradition" on to our children. Aneorexia is a serious problem also. I have suffered from not eating because i felt fat. Parents have to watch their children (male and female) closely for signs of both diseases. Stop it before it gets out of control. We have to learn to be healthy NOT skinney. The industry also needs to get off the skinny train and stop airbrushing models--make them look normal and real!!
