The average golf shoots over 118, the average golfer who has a handicap shoots around 92

I'd usually shoot low 80's, but some games get out of hand (like putter doesn't work, or snap hook a couple of drives in bad spots).
I am not a great wind player. Nobody shoots as well on a windy day as a calm one, but some people are affected more than others.
I do not keep score on my first or second round of the season, 'cause there is such a long layoff where I live...you have lost most of your "feel" for chipping and putting, and the season usually starts on temporary greens.
After that and a few trips to the range, I start keeping score. my worst "blowout" rounds will have me fighting to keep it in the 90's, but if I don't break 100, I still keep the score. It doesn't have a big effect on my handicap, as the worst scores aren't used, but I never cheat on the score. Some people I play with get really frustrated (to phrase it politely) when they aren't shooting well, and they'll quit keeping score part way through a round, or start with mulligans or foot wedges, but they cheat themselves.

I'm 14 years old with a 12.7 handicap. I have been playing for 6 months. I have a membership at the 4th hardest course in California, The Bridges Golf Club. I shoot 82-86 consistently.

I don't understand your question. If I shot a 72 I would celebrate. I would be pretty happy to shoot a 112.

I'd shoot about 72 but then I'd climb back in the cart and forget the last 4 holes...

Currently, I'm an 11 handicap. Most courses in my area, I'm in the low 80's/high 70's. Why?
