I have lots of favorites, but i think my favorite is between Rob Bell's "Velvet Elvis" or Donald Millers "Searching for God Knows What". No sarcastic/negative atheist answers please.

My "favorite Christian book" changes every year or so. But the latest book to really impact me strongly is "What's so Amazing about Grace" by Phillip Yancy. It is really a call to get away from legalism. It has played a part in my more recent spiritual growth, and I am making a nuisance of myself recommending it everywhere.

By the way, that's an excellent question - I'm taking note of the book titles!

Like Baseball G (way below), I am a fan of CS Lewis's Narnia chronicles, I still enjoy reading them over, and I'm 57.

This may be passe, but I really enjoyed the LEFT BEHIND series, Even if you've already made the decision to let Christ into your life, this is an inspired and inspiring series. I also recently read a book by Grant R. Jeffrey called The Signature of God which was very enlightening, and clearly and concisely written. P.S. Great Question, hope you get a lot of feedback!

My second book to the bible is a children's edition of "Pilgrim's Progress" I got at a yard sell, by John Bunyan & illistrated by Robert Lawson. It is an easy read for young & old with out loosing anything from the original book.

Also recomend:
Real Worship by Warren W. Wiersbe
Profiles in Character from Charles R. Swindoll, these are seperate books on the lives of "Paul, Esther, Job, David, Moses, Joseph"
The Father Heart of God by Floyd McClung Jr.

For Fiction: The Mitford Series by Jan Karon, they are funny, ones you can't put down.

interior the Grip of Grace. via Max Lucado. as quickly as i replaced into particularly discouraged and that i replaced into praying approximately it. i replaced into waiting to leave the church and it regarded as though some human beings have been attempting to run me off. I befell to be thinking by using a Christian e book shop praying silently and that i observed a e book with a hand attaining down and yet another hand attaining as much as God. i had to purchase it regardless of if it replaced into like 23 money and that i did no longer have the money. Later that day i replaced into on the Sam's club and that i observed the comparable e book on the coolest purchase table for 7 money. i'm no rocket scientist, yet i will tell while God is attempting to get my interest. So i offered the e book and the Lord used it to do a great artwork in my existence. i think of each and every christian ought to study it. I gave my replica away to somebody when I study it a pair of cases.

Anything by Max Lucado particular favs"He Still Moves Stones" "Six Hours One Friday" and "When God Wishpers Your Name". "Captured by Grace" by Dr. David Jeremiah. The "Left Behind Series" , "Mere Christianity" by C.S.Lewis and "The Screwtape Letters" very witty , tongue in cheek. Frank Peretti's novels he has some new one's that are interesting.
