[quote] Most people with excessive burping and bloating are air swallowers. Air enters the gastrointestinal tract when mouth breathing or talking/drinking while eating. A second frequent cause of gas is a change indiet such that gas forming foods are now eaten in greater amounts e.g. cabbage, beans, milk for many people.[end of quote]
So, watch yourself carefully, you may find yourself swallowing lots of air for nothing at times. Or maybe it is stuff you eat or drink (like someone that pointed soda, but it is not the only thing).
Also, it may be caused by some stress you got lately.
Stress pretty much creates disorders everywhere, and it may fiddle with your digestion and all.
If your problem persists and becomes worst, I suggest seeing a doctor!
Good luck with your problem! :)

I have had this for five years. I have not been to a doctor because all they can do for you is rule out major health issues and give you meds.
I have been trying to learn what causes constant belching. Here is what I have found:
Food not being digested in stomach (slow metabolism)
May be intestinal parasites
Stomach needs more hydrocloric acid
Need to get better intestinal enzymes
Need acidolphilus
I have found that we need to experiement with each of these to get to the root of the problem. If you go to a health food store or herbalist and ask for help with each of the above you can try one with no worry and then try another to see which helps elliminate the problem.
I am presently doing this. Good Luck and please dont wait as long as I did to solve the problem. I thought I was ingesting too much air also but that is not the case.

I have bouts of this myself. For me it occurs when either of two things occurs: Eating a combination of foods that create too much gas in the stomach and/or recent stressors that contribute to stomach upset and subsequent gas.
Over the last few weeks, have you had any somewhat big or major changes that have occured? The whole body, including the gastrointestinal system, can have its chemistry changed under times of stress. Enough so that the foods you've eaten aren't being properly digested, thereby causing excess gas. In addition, you may be swallowing air either by habit or more likely because you're anxious about something.
For a week or so, keep tabs on what you're eating as certain foods promote a gassy stomach. Also try to keep yourself in the driver's seat in terms of stress for the next while to see if the gas clears up.

Yes there is something wrong with you. Before I read others answers I am going to say you have a huge "hernia" at the end of your esophagus, with about 1/3 of your stomack cutting off the valve at the base of your esophagus. You are producing too much acid from the liver bile ducts. You are probably eating the wrong type meals also. If I were to drink a "bloody mary" I would probably need to be at the ER..LOL.
Medication will cure the symptoms...

It is nothing serious, just a little annoying. My husband does this.
You may have a gastric gas imballance in your stomach, or you may be swallowing air when you eat. Try to reduce the amount of acidy foods you eat, drink more water than soda, and slow down while eating. All of these things can cause excess air in your stomach.

well...u might have gas it comes both ways but sometimes the more sodium that u have it tends to bubble more...when i drink to much i burp like crazy...but u might need to go to a doctor to make sure it ain't something in ur stomach that is putting to much pressure and making u do that so much...sometimes i burp for no reason but it depends on ur acid rate...maybe take it slow and consult a doctor if it don stop.

I researched about that last week. Because my boss always burps every few mins, everyday, and it's very loud and kinda growse. You have to see a doctor if it is an occurrence. Yeah, there's something wrong. You have to avoid eating spicy foods, I guess.

Get to a doctor as soon as you can. Chest pressure can mean a heart problem. It also could be digestive problems.
