That depends on which "God" you're talking about. Bible believers seem to forget that there are other (and better) definitions of the word.

We Are Atheists Because...
There is no proof of the existence of god.
There is no need of, or use for, a god.
A good god would be useless if it were not powerful.
A powerful god would not deserve worship if he were not good.
There is no all-powerful good god; otherwise there would be no imperfection.
If this is the best world god can make, the stories of Heaven must be lies.
History shows that godism is accompanied by ignorance and superstition.
There has never been such intolerance and persecution as godists have practiced.
Godism had to be fought when humankind made its successive steps toward science, liberty, and reform.
Godism was invented in the earliest days of mankind's ignorance. It is incredible that primitive humans guessed wrongly about everything else, but discovered the truth about the origin of life. Everything about which science has discovered the origin was claimed previously to have been the work of a god. Godism recedes when a new fact is discovered. No new discovery ever supports a theistic explanation of anything.
All revelation proves, on investigation, to be human, and generally fraudulent.
Godism is consistent with crime, cruelty, envy, hatred, malice, and uncharitableness.

Atheism Teaches That...
There is no heavenly father.
Humankind must protect the orphans and foundlings, or they will not be protected.
There is no god to answer prayer.
Man must hear and help man.
There is no hell.
We have no vindictive god or devil to fear or imitate.
There is no atonement or salvation by faith.
We must face the consequences of our acts.
There is no beneficent or malevolent intent in nature.
Life is a struggle against preventable and unpreventable evils. The cooperation of humankind is the only hope of the world.
There is no chance after death to "do our bit."
We must do it now or never.
There is no divine guardian of truth, goodness, beauty, and liberty.
These are attributes of humankind. We must defend them or they will perish from the earth.

The categorical answer that comes to everyone's mind is that a person who does not believe in God is an atheist. The words atheist and non-believer are interchangeable.
It is not as simple as that. Buddhists, who do not believe in God, believe in spiritual refinement to the point of reaching a state of Nirwana, after which the cycle of rebirth and suffering ends forever.
Hindus, who believe in God, have a similar concept, Moksha.
Both the concepts of Nirwana and Moksha are basically the same – freedom from suffering in human form.
We cannot lump the Buddhists and Hindus in the same category although they differ in the concept of God. That is where the idea of believers and non-believers of God does not offer a simple answer.

Nonbelievers.
Nonbelievers include :
Atheists, who do not believe there is anything resembling a god in in the universe in any way, shape or form whatsoever and theist religions are, therefore, essentially false, artificial inventions without any legitimacy.
and
Agnostics, who do not believe the existence, or nonexistence of a god is knowable and theist religions must, therefore, be fundamentally hypocritical, dishonest, disingenuous and divisive political organisations.
Otherwise, the most common name of nonbelievers, as well as believers in English speaking countries, is Smith.

Atheists, for one. Although that can be broken out into other definitions.
An agnostic atheist ("weak atheist") is one who doesn't know if there aren't any gods. There is no proof of gods, so the agnostic atheist adopts the default belief system (for example, people generally don't believe in unicorns, though they don't have proof that unicorns don't exist).
A gnostic atheist ("strong atheist") is one who claims that there are no gods. Not only is there no proof of gods, but this lack of proof is enough to claim that gods simply don't exist. This requires the atheist to assume that the lack of proof implies that it just doesn't exist (for example, some people not only don't believe in unicorns, but they flat-out say that unicorns do not exist).
Edit: To a_blvr who claims that one who doesn't believe in god is "miserable," I thank you for your baseless assumptions about us atheists. Despite me having a successful life, happy marriage, and great job, you have the gall to come out and call me miserable, regardless of evidence to the contrary. Does lying about others help you win your case often?
Edit: I answered your question with a broad sweep, assuming you mean belief in any god. If you are talking about a specific religion's god, then you could simply use, "non-" to describe them: non-Christians, non-Muslims, non-Hindus, etc. Note that these definitions are not exclusive. For example, a Jew is a non-Christian, a non-Muslim, and a non-Hindu. In that case, the label "Jew" is much more succinct.
Edit: RAO MYSORE, your answer is not wholly correct. You presume that someone who does not believe in a god does in fact believe in God. You are contradicting yourself. That is like me saying that since you do not play golf, you are a golfer.

Atheist :One who disbelieves or denies the existence of God or
gods.
"Commonly taken to be the consious or deliberate, positive rejection and denial of theism; for others it's the simple absence of beliefs in deities, thereby designating many agnostics and people who have never heard of gods, such as newborn children, as atheists as well." - from Wikipedia.
An agnostic is one who :
- is unsure God exists.
- believes that it is impossible to know whether there is a God.
- is skeptical about the existence of God but does not profess true atheism.
Interestingly, there are beliefs which don't believe in God or gods - Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism.

Athiest,
But to me i think they are wise people why because they are thinking for them selves? Christians are Christians because their parents are Christian also Muslims are Muslims because their parents are Muslim, whats the point of saying your of such and such religion but you don’t even practice?
The Shahadah (declaration of faith) which a Muslim testifies in Islam. This is the Shahadah:
"There is no God but Allah, and Muhammad is his messenger"
The atheist has declared the first 4 words 'There is no God' and this what an atheist believes but now they will need to research and understand for themselves if or if not Allah is our lord and the Muhammad (pbuh) is his final messenger with a final message. Don’t just listen to the mass media, do some affective research that will determine which is the true faith. A women (was an atheist) she studied various religion and concluded that Islam is the 'best religion'.
