i want to get my boyfriend a practical gift for christmas. i need to know ahead of time in case i have to special order it. when christmas rolls around we will have been together for almost 4 months. so nothing tooooo personal. something manly like from sears or lowes or something. no sexual gift ideas i'm quite capable of coming up with those myself. and i'm on a budget i have alot of people to buy for so nothing over $100 United states dollars. he like power tools and he is a builder so they will come in handy. no gift cards they are too impersonal.

A nice watch, or if he is a tool buff like me find out what tool he wants/needs. Maybe a Carhartt Jackett or some work clothes for when he's building, or a new pair of workboots. I'm the same way I like pratcial gifts that I can use.

Perhaps a laser level or a stud finder if he doesn't have one? They aren't too expensive. Only like $20-$40. I'd love to have a laser level myself. Those things are quite handy. Or a new toolbox if he needs one. Actually, just go into his garage sometime when you get the chance and try to figure out what he has that needs to be replaced. Even if you don't know what it is, you can go to any store that sells tools and describe and they'll know what it is.

Depending on the kind of work he does building, some power tools are better gifts than others. If he does hobby stuff, then a belt sander or a desktop bandsaw or drill press might be a good gift.

Get him a flask! I got my boyfriend one last year and had his name engraved on it. It was pretty inexpensive and it was sterling silver, like 40 or 50 dollars.......And it's still a nice gift even if he isn't a drinker.

go to any "Mall" , go to the customer relations desk and ask for a pre-paid credit card. That way he can buy what he wants or take you shopping:)

Tickets to a concert or sporting event. If you are going with him, dress appropriately for the event.
