Change your bios to select the floppy drive as the 1st boot option.. get a `dos' boot floppy from the url given below.. put the floppy in the drive and reboot your machine.. it should boot from the `A' drive and you should end up with the A:/> prompt.. now type format c: and hit enter
It should format your `C' drive and windows 2000 will no longer be there.. do the same for the `D' drive.. now install XP on your `C' drive

Go into the C: drive or D:drive where windows 2000 and xp was installed.
Make all hidden files and folders visible.
There is a file called boot.ini
in that delete the line that points to your windows 2000 location.
This will remove win 2k from your comp.

Because you're using dual boot, you can delete/format one by log-in another one (you may have to make drive has installed Windows 2000 visible), or using boot disk (included in almost Windows disk) to format the one of them.
!!! BE CAREFULL, YOUR PC MAY NOT BOOT IF YOU INSTALL WINDOWS XP ON LOCAL DISK !!!
