Is there some technical reason for this?

There are plenty of HDTV's on sale that are less than 26"...

It's just that the larger screens are more popular and the quality more evident... In the smaller screen market, HD is not as popular for the added cost involved.

Take a look at the range of 20" HDTV's available below...

I have found 15" flat screens that are hd ready, but the guy at the electronics store said the same thing about the small screen not really benefitting from it.

you dont need hd on a small tv.
saying that i have a 50 plasma hd tv and there are hardly any hd programmes at the moment.
the manufactorers are waiting for everyone to get hd then they will come up with somthing else.
sony already have a differant version out.

At less than 32 inch widescreen size, HDTV doesn't make sense. In fact, I would say 37" is the smallest widescreen TV for which you get any benefit from HDTV.

The bigger the screen, the greater the effect of HD. So smaller screens dont benefit so much from it.

How many people do you know would enjoy watching HD on a tiny screen, not me. 32 is the smallest I would want.

its hard to see high deffinition on a screen the size of an ipod

it's all about the money. not enough people would want something that small, to make it worth the manufacturers effort to build something like that.
