I want to backup absolutley everything including the win 2000 server op system and its config. I have a tight budget what software is best?

Well, this isn't really a backup solution but you could always take a ghost image of the drive with Norton Ghost. Then you don't have to worry about storage software, etc. You would only need a PC with a similar hardware config to restore the drive image of your server.
