Are these all the same cars with different options? They look the same and are from the Ford car family - is there any real reason to buy the Lincoln Zepher over the Mercury Milan?

NO the milan and the Zephyr(mkz now) are the ford fusion.
(husbands a car sales man for FORD!)
They all have disticnt features..I prefer the MKZ there real nice. its just your preference..they each have different style..different look..different features.
There all wonderfull cars though. Now available as an AWD too.

The Ford 500 is a different car,
The Lincoln Zepher, Mercury Milan and the Ford Fusion are the same vehicle. Many articles have been written about the vehicles and most reviews say the Lincoln Zepher is strictly a rebadged Ford Fusion with no real upgrades to the engine. (Unlike the Lincoln Avaitor which has an upgraded engine over the Ford Explorer)
The reason to purchase one over the other then would strictly be a nameplate thing, like puchasing a Lexus ES series instead of a top end Toyota Camry.
The Ford 500 is a much larger car and is the same vehicle as the Mercury Montego, I don't believe Lincoln uses this platform, but I could be mistaken. The Ford 500 is the replacement for the Tarus and Montego the replacement for the Mercury Sable.

Actually, the 500 is a different body. The Fusion, Zephyr, and Milan (for U.S. only) are all the same models. The Zephyr has a lot more options than the Milan/Fusion twins, as well as the Lincoln badge on it. It has also been renamed the Lincoln MKZ for the 2007 model year. Also new for 2007, is a displacement increase from 3.0L to 3.5L. The Mercury equivalent (again for the U.S. only) to 500, is the Montego. The 500/Montego twins are bigger than the Fusion/Milan/Zephyr.

They are all made by Ford. The Lincoln brand has a few more standard options and badges, but you pay more for the same car. Go with the 500 and save about $2000 for the same car

your right they almost are the same car,some of them just may have few different options,but either one of them would be good as far as engine and drive train go there about the same also,i own a repair shop,and i have worked on all of these,and either one wold be a good car,just look the one over you want to but real good before you purchase it,and be sure its what you want to buy,,good luck with it,i hope this help,s.
