There may be a few rogue elements... although, most kebab shops have lamb as as a content... having seen a kebab roll made, i can tell you the lady above is quite right! Although i add, there are few herbs and spices added! Now we have to talk about quality! yes some are layers upon layers of fat, but this is mainly a binding ingredient! As you will note next time you nip to your local sheesh shop, a lot of the fat content ends up in the drip tray... and of coarse, we have to mention the fact, that the meat content is halal, meaning basically, that the animal has been bled! I know in some countries... there are some methods of slaughter, that are not used here in the u.k.! (or so we are told!) These methods include slicing the throat of the animal, and hanging it upside down!

i actually prefer the Khobi-da! this is a large sheesh on a naan bread, with lettuce and lots of pink chilli and mint sauce! flame grilled madness my friend! Doh... get me khobi-da please! NOW!
They are that good! You have to try one!

If for any reason you instincts are telling you not to eat in a certain kebab shop, then really, it's maybe because you ate from there and was quite ill! so choose a nice clean shop, some of these back street gaffs are ridden with rats in the back room! trust me; my friend is Health and Safety! And there are many places that do not display the food hygiene certificates! Ask if they have one, and if they cannot produce it, ask for them to bring it in next day, with documentation! Only then should you eat from there! if they don't report them! it's these establishments that give the Kebab industry a bad name! A respectable kitchen will always be displaying proudly food hygienge, and health and safety certs! Personally, i am willing to pay the extra money, for eating from a quality kitchen! It's better food, better quality, you get more and it's fresher! You can tell instantly if a place is clean! they usually have...

1. hair short under a hat, tied back! gloves when serving salad! and possibly wearing uniforms! Never use a chopping board made of wood or used for cooked and fresh meat! These should be seperate! Cooking utensils will be cleaner in a quality establishment! sufaces will be clean!

Now did you know this... i do not condone getting absolutely blind drunk in the slightest... kebabs defo taste better after a beer! if you eat clean, i can guarantee, your hang over will not include the trots! the trots and a lot of sickness comes from eating from dirty kitchens! many people who think they have a hangover, sometimes have food poisoning!

So please follow these simple rules to kebab eating, and you will be safe! Oh and Lamb Bhuna is awesome!

PEACE!

IT is the late-night snack of choice for many revellers - but a doner kebab can be packed with dangerous bacteria A report found the E Coli bug lurking among the mysterious meat, salad and sauce in many takeaways.

A team of researchers went undercover to investigate the snack, which has become so much of a staple in the British diet that comedian Harry Enfield created a kebab-selling character, Stavros.

A spokesman said: "Not even chilli sauce could mask the shocking contents we found in the average kebab.'

Researchers teamed up with Dr Tom Ryan, of the Royal School of Pharmacy.

After buying snacks from a random selection of fast-food restaurants, the grub was sent direct to a laboratory for tests.

Many of the post-pub bites were filled with bone, teeth, fingerprints and hair.

Tests on the doner kebabs revealed the E Coli bacteria.

Dr Ryan said: "E Coli causes abdominal cramps and diarrhoea. It occurs in uncooked and re-heated meat."

The experts also found that a kebab with all the dressings typically contains three times the fat of a Big Mac burger.

Fried chicken contained the bacterium staphylococcus aureos.

Dr Ryan wrote: "That is passed on from human skin and is likely to cause diarrhoea or induce vomiting."

Traces of bone were found in meat pies.

The doctor claimed: "I wouldn't have been surprised if there were a few trotters in there as well."

Burgers purchased at chain restaurants contained traces of bones and teeth.

Taflan Dikec, president of the National Association of Kebab Shops, said: "A doner roasting machine generates 350C of heat to cook kebabs.

"We believe this is enough to make kebabs one of the safest takeaway foods."

Phil Hilton, editor of Nuts magazine, who were behind the study, said: "The standards in our national delicacy are clearly falling

A restaurant or take-away cannot, by law, advertise a product as a Donner Kebab if it contains any other meat than lamb!

Donner Kebabs contain very strict amounts of lean meat and fat, along with spices and herbs.

If however, you choose to have something that is advertised simply as a 'kebab' then its lucky dip!!!!

A TRUE Donner is made from Lamb shoulder with a little seasoning.and nothing else...

Cheaper donners contain Minced lesser cuts of Lamb or Mutton eg breast and "trimmings" plus some rusk or bread filler.

There is a MYTH (spread by the ignorant) they contain dog or cat meat and other wierd and wonderfull ingrediants but this is just a lie...

It is generally made of decent lamb meat... a bit fatty though. The quality of the meat will depend on where you eat it. Try eating it in Turkey. Iskender kebab, a kind of doner kebab is made of cow meat.

Lamb, some of the rumours are true but there are some good people who make them too, on Gordon Ramsay once he went to a place where they made it and he was impressed...

Good and Bad, as with everything...

Dead sheep, herbs and the bits that John West rejects, they are tasty but I would be careful, as they are always reheated day after day, the bit that did not sell last night is still on the spit and it is warmed up again , very dodgy.

it incredibly is each and all of the scrap waste from the slaughter abode, there is even bones in it. it incredibly is the stuff left while they have taken the cat and canines nutrition bits out. It rather strikes below a microscope and is not any longer even classed as meat! It does style superb nevertheless!
