David,
Wanting the troops to come home is good thing. Wanting them to come home before they have chance to finish a job that they have been given is not so good. I hate to say it, but there is a mess over there now and to fix it is going to take a lot more troops.
I don't like being away from my family. But the job needs to be done and it needs to be done right. I believe in doing something right the first time because you may not get a second chance.
If we were to bring all the troops home now there would be a lot more trouble and a lot more innocent people killed. I don't believe that I will be going over there for the third time because of patriotism and freedom of Americans. I do it to protect my fellow service members and those innocent Iraqi's that as of yet can't defend themselves.
I hope this helps.

The troops we send into these countries need and deserve the support of everyone in their home countries.
Most of them do not want to be there and would prefer to be at hope with their families.
They have signed up to do job sometimes easy and sometimes dangerous, whether we agree with the war or police action or whatever the government want to call it they are our troops and deserve to be supported.
I hate the thought of one day waking up, going to work and never coming home because someone has planted a bomb in the name of their "God" that is what our boys and girls are trying to save us from.
Good or bad it is not the fault of our troops, keep every one of them safe and return them to their families.

How would you feel if you had a job in which you HAD to go to work everyday and people who are supposed to be supporting you are tell you to go home. Of course they can't go home. Its their job to stay. I of course believe in freedom of speech and believe its one of the things that makes America great. Please support the troops but not by telling them to come back! Send those comments to our government officials who could do something about it. Not our troops!

No it is not any kind of support for the troops.
All it is is support for your political opinion.
In fact it indicates a lack of respect for the troops because you want to throw away our chance for victory.
The enemy cannot defeat us. The only people who can defeat us are Americans who are willing to lose a war in order to advance their political agenda.

Yes, but the troops still have a job to do. Until we are told otherwise, we will continue to do our job.

I think it is.
I hate hearing about young, wonderful Americans loosing life and limb in some god-forsaken sand pit half way around the world for no good reason at all!
I hope you never have to go there.
Iraqi's don't even care about what the terrorists are doing to them and their country! If they did they would stop that insanity! Now!!!

yes it is, no soldier wants to go to war, that is what they are trained to do, military would rather be in a peacekeeping style of force which we are not at this time and havent been in 5 yrs since 911.

I think that you should just ask the soldiers themselves. Because it's them that are in afghanistan, not you.
