I have wavy hair. It's medium length, but i'm thinking of getting it cut a bit shorter and straightened. Anything I should know about straightening it? Like what not to do with it or anything?

One thing to realize is once you start starigthening your hair, you risk the chance of having unhealthy hair.... if your going to use a flat iron get one with procelin plates, like a CHI from global beauty, You can find this at any Trade Secret in the mall, they run about $130 but its worth it to have healthy hair. Also now that your going to start straightening it, you should use a cream try Matrix, sleek look, in your hair, not gel or mousse, this will help keep it healthy also. Your hair is going to look great.

Have it done professionally if you can ... Also go to a reliable salon .. They use a lot of chemicals which might be harmful so its alwyas better to go to a good salon and have it done from someone who knows the business ... Enquire abt the product they use and DO NOT USE it if you are pregnant .. they do have some products safe for pregnant women but i would suggest not to take the risk ... HAPPY straightening !!!! :)

ummm don't burn your hair too bad it will make your hir very scraggily
use a small straightner too like about a 1 in or a 3/4 that would work too
or even a 1/2 if you can find it that small
use a straightning sereme so that it won't screw up your hair too bad it keeps it from burning and will like make it smooth and silky
yeah hope that is helpful lol

i have wavy hair too, and i staighten mine quite often. if your hair is thinner, then make sure the heat isn't up too high because then it will fry your hair. it is easier to straighten shorter hair, doesn't take as much time as long hair.

get a good straightener, like a CHI. otherwise it will take way to long with a cheap-o one and it wont get all the way straight. get it layered, this looks best when straightened

Straightening is very hard on your hair. Be prepared to deep condition it often. If you don't, you face possible breakage.

Get it done by someone who specializes in this, and someone who has their *own* hair straightened. It's fabulous.
