It's good if you want to be the first
to experience new technology. But
to go along with the new technology,
you are also a guinea pig as to how
well the product performs in the real
world along with all of the bugs to boot.
If you have the patience, you'll almost always
save money by waiting for the 2nd generation version.
Many times when the price starts going down, a lot of mass-market
manufacturers start really competing and trying to cut costs in
every which way they can, which normally equates into
using a lot of plastic. It's more reliable but cheaper.
One good way to get around this is to look for the
manufacturers that are not so mass-market
focused and build much more high-quality
items, and there are always the high-end
market where quality is most important.

sure there's a distinction. I own between the suitable upconverting Blu Ray gamers for sale. My LG large Blu participant does a good activity upconverting prevalent DVD's. I have actual tricked some acquaintances into wondering they were observing hi def. Then I put in a Blu Ray or an HD DVD in basic terms even as they idea the photo couldn't get any more effective perfect. they are blown away as there's a distinction. the more effective your show is the bigger the version will be. A 1080p photo on a more suitable 1080p show is the finest of the suitable and likely you are able to tell.

If you have the money to spend and really cant wait then go for it. However we bought our first DVD player for £300 and now they're under 20 pounds. The same will happen with these. Also they haven't really finalised which format the HD will be on. I think it's a bit of a Betamax vs. VHS thing again, one will prevail.

I'm waiting for the better ones, the one's that have no (or hardly any) bugs as well. I waited 5 years for the DVD player I got, and bought it for 50$ (USD). Was it worth the wait? Sure, why not. I had my PS2 to keep my DVD's company until I bought it :P

Noone knows which is going to win the format battle yet, Blu Ray or HD. I'd wait a while, you don't want to end up with a bit of plastic with nothing to play on it.

ITs only worth it if you have a lot of money to burn.
Most new technology products start off at a price which is roughly double what they will cost a year later, so unless you can afford it and have to have it, dont bother getting it.

Unless you've just got to have it and can afford it, it's almost always better to wait. The subsequent generations of new technology are usually more improved and cheaper.
