Meat requires so much land and other resources to produce and farts are a major cause of global warming too. also, it's cruel. 100 years ago women and black people had few rights in America. Won't animals have more rights in the future too.?
When there are enough enlightened people to bring about change in the laws.

This has nothing to do with immigration, but I'll answer this anyways. The answer is no. Humans are omnivores. Which means we eat meat and plants, and we do so by choice. The land taken by livestock is meant for that purpose and only that purpose. How is it cruelty to the livestock that we eat? They are bred for this purpose and only this purpose. We are also at the top of the food chain, which means we are predators. It's not wrong in the wild when a lion hunts down and kills it's food, so why should this be any different, we just do it to survive. As far as farting, that's only natural. Every mammal on the face of this planet does that. I'm guessing you are a vegetarian, because no one else would ask this question. i respect the fact that you only want to eat vegetables, and stick to your habits, but it does not give you the right, by any means, to try and change the habits of others.

Sorry you said 'farts are a major cause of global warming' then used the word enlightened.
Obviously you know nothing about global warming, like the Greenpeace people. The most important 'greenhouse' gas is water vapour followed by carbon dioxide, and methane is way down the chain. Remember livestock accumulate and contain carbon until they decompose, but new livestock are raised gathering the carbon, the same goes for trees but on a longer time frame. In any case the rise in atmospheric carbon dioxide is by no means the only influence on global temperature changes.

A 'little' knowledge is a dangerous thing.

With increasing populations and demands on food meat will become more expensive perhaps prohibitively so in certain areas

NO meat is going to be a part of the diet of Humans till therer are no more humans you need certain protiens or acids that only meat can give and supplements don't quite work. There will always be room for raising cattle and poultry people only cover about 2 percent of the land area in the US, so where is the lack of space?

I see no reason why it should ever be illegal to eat meat. Perhaps certain types of meat, such as veal, will be eliminated due to cruel practices. The production of meat is not inherently cruel, however. For one thing, animals are not aware of their mortality and so killing them is not cruel, provided it is not in an unneccessarily painful manner. Besides that, animal populations routinely need to be culled or not only will they destroy their environments (largely thanks to us removing natural predators), but they'll also starve to death. This is a frequent problem with game populations such as deer in the northeast of America. Besides, if all meat were made illegal, all our current stock would have to be destroyed, including live animals.

Besides, humans and our ancestors have eaten meat for tens of thousands of years. No arbitrary law will change our culinary nature or our need for certain meat derived dietary fibers. Recently cetain US cities have banned certain meat sales, such as Chicago which banned what I believe to be goose liver because its production was cruel. New York City is contemplating bans on certain fats which may involve certain meat products, but fat content often has more to do with preperation than the actual meat. It should be noted that both of these laws (or proposed law in the case of NY) have been met with much resistence. I think any government naive enough to try flat out banning meat would quickly lose all its support.

No, meat will never be completely banned.

I do eat meat.. and I love animals.. I do feel bad about what the animals go through but they are born and breed for that purpose.... I know some of the places are cruel to them and I do think that does need to be looked into... I think hunting is horrible, .. and they will never outlaw that.. so what makes you think eating meat will be illegal. Get a better argument...

I eat meat because its tasty and provides protein for my body.I am very active and require a source for that energy needed for my life style.I work 14 hours a day in my business and its important that I keep up my stamina also.I have a very high metabolism so I eat a lot but don't get fat..
My concern for animal rights are for the loving everyday animals that can give you back the love you give to them.
My dogs,my cats,my horses and my parrot. There are many more loving animals and I don't eat them either.Sounds immature I know but its the facts of my life as I live it.To each his own ...on this one..I'm not sure what your post has to do with immigration tho.

The economics of land and resource usage will set a market price for meat. Possibly it will be higher in the future.

What is the benefit to not eating meat? You may believe in it, but I believe meat is tasty!

While we are at it, lets make tree cutting illegal. But, then again, how would tree huggers have guitars made out of wood, to play at their rallies? Meat will not be made illegal, unless we become a Hindu nation, and that will not happen. Cows would be happy, though.

The eating of meat will never be outlawed. Frankly, this is because it is essential to good nutrition. There are ways to get around eating it, but it's easier to eat meat. Also, There's lots of land on which to raise cattle, etc. Perhaps you live in a city where there's not, but here in Oklahoma we have thousands of acres to raise America's meat on. 100 years ago, women and African-Americans were not being eaten. They are also both sentient human groups of people who deserve rights allowed to everyone. Animals aren't people, they never will be. Therefore, they don't get rights and will continue to be eaten.
