Getting your labia pierced is less painful than a hood piercing.

I have each labia pierced; to me it felt like getting earlobes or a navel pierced. I HAD by hood pierced, the pain wasn't unbearable, but I wouldn't get it done again. After a while the jewelry was just annoying to wear, so I took it out.

As far as cost: that varies from shop to shop and from piercer to piercer, you'll have to call and ask.

It will hurt, but everyone is different, so I don't know how bad it'll hurt you. The area will be sore overall for a few days to 2 weeks. As long as you take good care of it and as long as it was pierced by a professional who knows his/her stuff, it won't hurt for long.

Its only embarrassing if you are dirty down there. Shower and clean yourself up before you go. If you are more comfortable with a female piercer, find one. But keep in mind, we are professionals, we don't tease you or make comments, we do our job and that's that.

I had this question up and it got deleted. Stupid yahoo.

Anyway, I got my hood done yesterday. It didn't hurt at all. It was just very shocking (how often do you have a needle down there?). It only took a second to pierce. The most uncomfortable part was when she cleaned under the hood.

I really enjoyed the walk home! ;)

I got three piercings yesterday (only one below the belt) and the place I went to was having a deal 3 for 40$. Below the belt usually costs more since it is such a risky place.

Usually I have a problem with dropping my pants for anyone. She made me really comfortable though and I dropped them like it was nothing and just hopped up on the table. She was really professional and it wasn't like I was her first one.

Make sure your piercer has exp. and that you get a female if you are uncomfortable with the notion of a male down there.

Good luck and have fun!

I have my hood pierced. My friend (who is a piercer) did it for me, and I think I gave her $60. I can honestly say it was the most painful piercing I have ever gotten. (I have been pierced 19 times, 4 of those my nipples.) I had to have my husband hold me down for the jewelry insertion, because there was no way I could handle that on my own.

Getting the piercing was not embarassing at all, since she was a friend, but if you are concerned with it just make sure you take a shower and get real clean before going in to the shop. I mean, like, use a Q-tip to clean the area. That way you won't be worried about it later at all.

Once the jewelry was in, it did not hurt at all. It was swollen for a few days, maybe a week tops.

One more note on embarassment. You should read this experience:

There was an update to that, but I don't know if it made it through moderation. Sufficive to say, masterbation is not required, and that experience highlights nearly everything you need to watch out for/run away from. Skeezy piercers like that should get the cops called on them.

The cost about six years ago where I live was 50.00. I got mine done on my birthday. I went a little wild after my divorce. A friend of mine(who went with me)had hers done and thought it was great. As for embarrassing it wasn't for me. That would just depend on you. The guy that did it was very cordial. The actual piercing was very painful. I've heard some people have an orgasm when it is done. I certainly didn't. I remember healing time being a few weeks I guess. I took mine out this year. One thing to consider is that after a while it can have an affect on you being able to have an orgasm. That is what happened to me. For some people it is fine, but for me it wasn't. Guys think it is really cool and it makes for fun conversation when you tell people you have one. Its a personal decision and every ones body adapts differently. I have no regrets about getting it done or taking it out. Its fun to say I actually did it, because not everyone would.

It really doesnt hurt as much as you think. I had one as well as i have 4 nipple rings(2 in each). That was 30X's more painfull. as for embarrasment, i grew up in tattoo parlors, and you wouldn't belive the disgusting things that you see. They have always seen worse. But make sure that if you do get it done, you maintain the proper cleansing schedule. You DO NOT want that infected. Dont listen to people when they say its trashy, its body art and it is a way of self expression, wether you are the only one seeing it or not.

Well there are many many places existing "below the belt". So that question is general at best. Any genital piercing requires special after care. Also be aware that a clit piercing also comes with the rist of losing feeling due to nerve damage. Seek out a reputable piercer, someone who isn't afraid to discuss true pros and cons with you.

It doesn't hurt that bad and the healing time is about 2 days. I've had my done for 3 years. If your worried about being embarrassed go to the tattoo shop and meet the pierceologist. Talk to them and become accquainted so its not so akward. Most of all be comfortable with your body. No one else matters

I have my hood pierced, after the needle was through the flesh I felt no more pain even thought about adding another. I also have my nipples pierced, now those hurt, but I like playing with them.

I second going to bmezine.com, good source of tattoo/piercing info. As far as pain, it's all relative to the person - some have a high tolerance, some low.
