I find it a strange paradox that there is so much violence in such a publicly declared holy period.

In addition, when the Pope reads something about violence and the Muslim faith from the 14th century, the immediate response is violence! So could someone explain the disconnect?

I am not trying to be insensitive to any faith, but speak from personal experience. I am from a muslim country (pakistan) and i am a Christian. I will like to say that muslims practice violence when they know they can get away with it and in large crowds. This is one such time they think they can "get away" with the violence. I have only seen hate in this religion with a small minority that do not hate. Also the Quraan teaches to kill those that do not conform to the muslim faith.

Perfect exmples

3:28, Let not the believers Take for friends or helpers Unbelievers rather than believers: if any do that, in nothing will there be help from Allah.

According to this muslims cannot have friends that are not believers.

8:12, I will instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers: smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them

This is what is to be done with non-believers

Need i say more?

Good question, especially since the Qur'an explicitly prohibits violence during Ramadhan. (Digression: the spelling I have used is based on the Arabic. There are two different "d" letters in Arabic - daad, and daal. Daad is usually transliterated as dh, as in Riyadh, but for some reason the word Ramadhan, which is spelled with daad, is usually rendered in English without the h. But the Arabs aren't consistent on this, either -- consider Riyad Bank.)

Because during Ramzan Muslim's Spiritual forces are on high time that is why they do their best to crush evil forces just like we have done in Iraq & Afghanistan against the US, NATO & its allied butchers.

Regarding voilance against POPE remarks is that POPE should know that the
" Wounds caused by Words are deeper then the Sword"
& when someone u got hurt by some thing sharper than sword definetly the person get voilent, provided if he is human.

Selam Aleikum, My Grandma is a diabetic to boot, in exactly the comparable subject as you at the instant are. you're exempt from fasting, sis. something you prefer to do approximately this is genuinely your determination and thoroughly as much as you. you have a kind of praying greater suitable, interpreting Qur'an greater in lots of cases, giving charity (do no longer forget Zekat ~winks~). you may organise a ruin-quickly dinner on your loved ones or for those in choose while you're waiting to. there are various cautioned sturdy deeds which you're able to do, regardless of if it relatively is thoroughly non-compulsory, relax certain :) P.S. I additionally beleive that even although you're exempt from fasting, you at the instant are not exempt from praying Teraweeh. So there is yet another interest which you may experience nearer to God. i do no longer think of you're obliged to feed 60 human beings, i think of it relatively is non-compulsory to boot, regardless of if it relatively is particularly a sturdy deed and in the experience that your funds enable it, i might incredibly propose it.

Any areas where there are religion extremists it will result in violence and crime. The key word being "extremest" because their are just as many Muslim who live and practice a peaceful faith.

Well, you don't see Christians blowing other people up during Easter or Christmas. Wait, they don't do that any other time either! Nevermind.......

For the person who posted below me, WWI and WWII, we were in a state of war against evil tyrants. We do not go out and actively seek innocent victims to blow up like muslim terrorists. The crusades were too many hunderds of years ago to count. Come back to the modern world why don't you!

because the Pope is an ignorant and a disgrace to the Vatican.

violence in an occupied country like Iraq? hmm... let me guess! because it's occupied?

i would expect from the "peaceful" Christians in Iraq and Afghanistan to put down their fire arms during Christmas right? or will they still kill people?!! I'm assuming they are such peace loving people even though they are occupying a foreign land for no reason.

There is no disconnect. They are the soldiers of islam and it's ok to kill people even during holy days.

Christians have been killing eachother on Christmas, Easter, etc etc. for years: i.e.:WWI WWII
Christians even spread their faith with the sword, ala Crusaders.
