If the problem is just sludge you can run a solvent made to break it up through the engine.But be aware that on a vehicle of that age if will probably cause it to smoke afterwards.Your best bet is to unbolt tht motor mounts. Jack up the motor and pull the pan.That way while your in there you can examine the main and rod bearings while it's off.

lets just say that you could force a solvent backwards through a
custom maid oil filter design, where would do you think all the
junk would end up, back in side the bottom of the oil pan to be picked up once more. do it right and drop the pan.
