Could you be with someone and NEVER know what they do for a living? I have a good job and make decent money but most females STILL wanna know exactly what I do for a living... My employer "prefers" I not say what I do for a living. Nothing illegal, its a government job. Should I lie? Should I tell her a lie so she has peace???

Be honest and explain the stuation...your emplyer wants it to remain a secret...but I mean eventually if you find the "one" you'll have to spill your beans...but at that point you should be able to trust her enough to confide in her and know she'll keep it to her self.

What is it you do again???...lol

just buggin.

Don't lie tell her the truth my boss prefers that I don't discuss what it is I do for a living. She may go for it she may not, but you have to understand from her point of view as well. If the shoe was on the other foot would you want her to lie about something as pety as that. Just tel what you employer says.

If she loves you, and as you say its nothing illegal, just tell her to trust you. Because there is just no love if there is no trust, she should believe you, when you say its nothing illegal, and i don't think its her problem to worry about where the money come from...nothing illegal, just tell her its a government job, which you have to keep a secret even from the one you love. Don't lie it just makes it worse, makes her doubt you.
Good Luck :P

No!!!!!!!!!! Never lie to her! A lie always seem to come back and bit you in the butt! (Smile) I would rather know where my guy works. Could you show her some kind of identification with your picture saying you work for the government with out disclosing the department? It would bother me. If you know where I work, than I want to know where you work. It would make me nervous.

dosent make much since, most government jobs just dont want you giving out too much info. If someones going to come live with you, your employer should be able to understand that. Just tell her what its you do, just that your dont have to give her to much info, she wants to feel safe living with you, she wants to be able to trust you, so NO dont lie, no one can trust a lier.

What if you only told her half the truth, you aren't lying you just aren't giving it all away. If for some of the time your in an office, tell her you have an office job with the government.

Just tell her that your job is not really important, or just completely avoide the question like don't ask what the girl does for a living!

I think you sould tell her the truth. Tell her that you can't tell her right now that your boss has asked you to keep quite and then if it gets real serious then tell her. That way if your not seeing her in a month she can't go run her mouth.

The other thing is if you lie to her now and she finds the truth out later she may leave you because she can't trust you.

Don't lie. Give her a vague/broad Idea of what you do. I have many friends that work for the government. For instance one can only say she does 'government contracting." :)
