I had a tetanus shot lets see on wednsday and i was just wondering if its normal for my arm still to be in really bad pain/soreness.its so bad that the slightest bit of pressure makes me wence up in pain. and moving it is ok i mean it hurts but i can stand it. but it still really hurts its worse then it was on wednsday but about the same as yesterday is this normal and how long will it last? cuz i start my new job on monday with a bunch of babies..

It's normal for your arm to feel sore or like it has a muscle ache. It is not normal for it to get red, swollen or warm to the touch.

Try moving your arm around - and doing some stretches. You can also put warm heat on it and take an advil.

Yes, it's normal. It's just like a bruise in a way. If you get a bad bruise, it will usually hurt for about a week. What helps sometimes, but too late for you, is to really keep your arm moving after you get the shot. It helps the fluid injected to spread out better among the tissues. You could use a hot pack, or some people have actually said that cold packs work better on them. Tylenol can help too.

Personally I think Tetanus is one of the absolute worst shots, anyone can have. I have wicked pain for almost a week after having a tetanus shot, you can try to ice it, if its swollen, sometimes heat works better, but the best thing to do is move that arm around to get the soreness out, believe it or not, it works.
