Do you realize that Martha Stuart took advantage of the stock market and it was $50,000 only and it was her stock and her money? She was convicted went to prison, made friends of the ladies there, and did her time. She came out said I'm sorry to the world, and went on tv....not into rehab that many celebs do to get off...Now if that is not a role model, I don't know what is. I admire her because she has good, everyday recipes for me. I admire her because she made a mistake and said I'm sorry to the world. I believe in second chances, and I don't like celebs who hide behind rehab...it was the drugs, or alcohol talking. etc.
It was not like the men who stole hundreds of millions by making false records at Enron and other companies, yes millions from state pension funds from working teachers and unions.....they stole from the public.
And because Ken Lay died in one of his summer homes that was bought with stolen money, right after he was convicted, the public cannot get the hundreds of millions back from his family. Guess they are laughing now.
....just one women's opinion of the work ethic, and forgiveness.
Now, you can throw all the stones you want...feel better now?

Martha did her time and has paid the price of publicity. I don't like her too much myself, but I don't see any reason she can't go back to doing her thing.
And if you are that worried about role models for your daughter, I suggest you either step up to the plate and be one yourself or trust that she is sensible enough to make her own decisions.

There is no such profession as a "choux pastry chef". Plus, technically she did not steal anything, if you payed attention it was her own money!! Just bad business practices!!

Martha Stewart made a mistake. Not unless she has gone on a murderous rampage and I haven't heard about it yet.

Your daughter is a grownup I'm sure she can see that and doesnt need her Momma to tell her who to aspire to....for crying out loud it was a blue collar crime, she did her time, apologized, now lets move on
