i have a set of both but one of the pinchers just died, if i buy another male one so that the female will have company will it be okay if i combine them with the lovebirds, i'm thinking they might be lonely. or perhaps the pincher was already sick? i'm thinking this because ever since i brought them home a week ago, the pinchers were always apart.

Don't try it. Lovebirds, particularly female lovebirds, are very territorial and aggressive. Lovebirds are sweethearts and I love mine dearly, but I have no doubt my hen lovebird would kill any other bird I tried to put in with her. It is her cage, her space. She even goes after my African Grey Parrot who is ten times her size! In pet situations lovies have been known to bite off the toes of other birds housed with them and even to kill birds larger than themselves such as cockatiels. Those little finches would not stand a chance.
I would recommend you buy another finch for your widowed finch, she really needs some company, but keep the finches and lovebirds caged separately.

Yes, they do in some circumstances, kill other lovebirds. If the cage or aviary is crowded. If there is too much competition for food/ ideal nesting spaces/ water/ mates. If they are nesting it is normal for the breeding pair's male to drive off all other birds. It is advisable to remove the aggressive male or better yet, seperate the breeders into their own cage then diminish the light levels to that cage. Do not provide nesting materials or a nesting box. Provide toys and proper diet and weekly baths. Another option is to seperate by gender. Keep the injured bird away from the others as they will kill an injured bird. Barron's books has a great resource book on Lovebirds.

No, not at all, by all means get another mate for the finch, the shop that you purchased it from should give you another free of charge, since you only just bought it, and it died.
Lovebirds should be kept apart from finches, they will bite their feet off if given the chance.
Lovebirds are a beautiful bird, one of my fav,s, but are very aggressive aswell.

I would not recomend putting any type of bird in with a lovebird, unless it is another lovebird. Lovies are small but can be very territorial and could end up killing your finches. Please don not do this. You can put there cages near each other, but never in the same cage.

NO! dont put finches with lovebirds. the lovebirds would probably bully the finches and the finches would pick at the lovebirds.. you'll have 4 dead birds.. they can die of stress..
