There are three verses in the Quran, which are verses 5, 6 & 7 from Surat Al Tarek [86]. In those three verses god is challenging people asking them to look how they were created, and god says that they were created from dripping water (semen). In verse 7 god says that this semen comes from the backbone (of the man) and the ribs (of the woman) and this is how a baby is created.

I am a little confused because I realize that the Quran had some scientific confusion in those verses as follows:
(1) It assumes that the man's semen comes from his back, which was the common belief at the time.

(2) It also assumes that the woman's ejaculate fluid comes from her chest, which was also a common belief at the time.

(3) It finally assumes that the pregnancy is the result of mixing man's semen with woman ejaculate fluid.

Does anyone know if there is any other way to understand those confusing verses?

Those verses speak for themselves.

If a devout Muslim read it, fear of offending Mohammed or Allah would take over, so would believe it. Otherwise they could be considered apostate.

My God is the Great scientists. Genesis 1 or any bible book doesn't contradict with science, unless the science is based on a wrong theory (Like God is the Monkey Spirit).

Fluid gushing from between ribs and back bone. There is no mention that ribs is of woman and backbone is of the man. It is not there in the verse.

Ejaculatery duct is really between ribs and back bone of the man and semen is actually ejaculated from there, not from the testes. So this verse is 100% accurate. Only people who still think that semen is ejaculated from testes will say this is scientific error.

It says simply that man is created from the liquid that is ejaculated. During coitus that liquid springs from the abdomen (“between the ribcage and the spine”). That is a scientific fact!

1400 years ago, even doctors thought semen springs from the testicles during coitus. They were wrong of course! Recent discoveries have proven them wrong!
Semen is stored in vesicles that lie in the abdomen. From there it is ejaculated during coitus. Lay people still think that the ejaculate comes from the testicles.

The Quran does not say where semen is produced. Just where it comes from during coitus!

In fact, if the Quran had said that the semen is produced in the abdomen, (“between the ribcage and the spine”), and not the testicles, it would still be accurate. At least 95 to 98% accurate! Only 2-5% of the semen is contributed by the testicles. The rest is produced in the glands located in the pelvic cavity.

But the Quran does not say where the semen is produced, because the Quran is not 98% accurate. It is 100% ACCURATE!

“Man should consider what it is that he has been created from. He is created from water (fluid) spurting forth, emanating from a place between the (lower) back and the (lower) ribs.”

From http://www.understanding-islam.com/rq/q-068.htm:
The male sperm is formed in the testes, yet the blood supply which, obviously, is integral to the making of the sperm comes from between the ribs and the back. I was also told by one of my doctor friends that the cells that form the sperm originate from between the ribs and the back. If this is true, then the words of the Qur’an are not scientifically incorrect, as the words “emanating from a place between the (lower) back and the (lower) ribs”, do not necessarily imply “emanating in its final shape” only, but can also cover “initial emanation”.

There's a lot more explanation at the webpage which includes illustrations to make it easier to understand.
