I have tried it, yes. Because whey protein is closer to human milk composition it's easier for human's to digest and therefore you can get better results with it. I am not sure what your goals are, but as a young mom with a two year old, I started using whey protein shakes to supplement my diet and make taking in the appropriate amount of protein easier. I have noticed increased mental clarity and physical energy since starting to use it. I also believe that I've gained a couple pounds of muscle unexpectedly because the line of work I'm in is physical and I've been taking in a little more than the RDA of protein each day! :)

So, unless you have a food sensitivity to dairy products, I'd recommend it.

I tend to lose weight very easily. So I took whey protein as a meal supplement. It works but my cholesterol shot up to 270 from 230. My advice is read the label and get those with low or no cholesterol in the ingredients.
