Chemical pest control seems to be very wide in effectiveness. The problem is that it often effects non-pests. Some compounds are also long lasting and will leach into ground water, poisoning the biosphere.

Biological pest control is usually more pest specific. The use of Praying Mantis is one of the most diverse. Pheromones are highly effective but very specific.

Most biological pest controls can be broken down into one of four groups: Parasitoids, Predators, Pathogens and Weed Feeders.
