If it has been removed, likely, it will be followed very closely, it also depends on what stage its in and if they are sure they removed it all during surgey. Most renal cancers dont take well to radiation or chemotherapy. You need to talk it over with your oncologist.

One the person has undergone surgery or completed their chemo and/or radiation therapy, then usually the oncologist will follow the person about every 3 months for a while. They will usually get scans to see if there is any evidence of recurrence. As you get farther out from your cancer, then you will usually only be seen every 6 months, then eventually once a year.
