If it were me, I would take 1000 unit of vitamin C, a zinc pill, a good multi-vitamin like One Source that Wal-Mart carries, and drink at least 64 oz. of water a day. Too, take some sort of allergy med.

Sometimes such complicated reactions are not due to an allergy to something in the battery of allergy tests that docs do. Rather, it is due to being a little bit allergic to many things. (This was my case). Also, don't drink milk. My cousin was having horrible allergic reactions and no one could discover what was causing it. As it were, he took the suggestion not to drink milk and to replace it with water. His problem cleared up.

As a hint, too, some home grown honey from some local bee keeper helps with local allergies. Find some honey that is made as close to your home as possible and add it to hot tea.

You have given no true signs of her having allergies. You said nothing about runny nose, wheezing, eyes watering, hives, sneezing and coughing. Now if she is scratching her skin for a minute then of course it will look like someone scratched her because she is scratching her skin up.As far as her skin getting things that looks like scratches even when she does not scratch herself,my 14 yr old and neighbor gets that on their arms.It must be a new skin disorder thats going around. Her throat and skin could be 2 seperate cases being linked as 1.

Your Mom's allergy may be linked to laundry detergent, has she changed her brand lately. I have an allergic reaction to certain types of detergents myself. I end up with dry itchy skin with most detergents, I have found that many brands are making dye and perfume free detergents, this style of detergent may help.
