I mean, over time would a story passed orally assimilate the present technology with the assumption that it had always been there?

I am not sure if i understand your question but i will give it a shot anyway. Orally history is changed slightly by each telling and by each person until it doesn't resemble anything of the original story at all. Given the two thousand years time span we are dealing with if it wasn't written down God could be an almighty grapefruit by now if it were done orally. The Bible has suffered enough at the hands of religious zealots seeking to make it in their own image to the point that it could be fifty percent wrong by now. No one knows for sure. This is why men need to read it and use their brains to try and weed out the many contradictions and come to a reasonable conclusion. God is good and he wants us to be good in order to get to heaven that is the bottom line everything else is hearsay as far as i am concerned. Peace to you.

Interesting question. Kind of reminds me of "our Ford" from Brave New World. I suppose it's possible, but not very likely with our current dearth of books and information available. The only way I could really see it happening is a sort of hostile-takeover situation...

ETA: Duh, it's a hypothetical on an oral tradition. In that case, I'd say it's quite likely.

Your question really doesn't make much sense. God didn't create planes. Without writing, it is unlikely that man would have ever created planes.
