There's no many things to avoid .Just a few to do .Do regular exercises.Drink milk before you go to bed.Bathe with warm water before you go to bed can make you to sleep deeply.And don't think too much.

Hello, not a food but I'd try St Johns wort and cod liver oil? Your question is interesting to me because between January and the end of July this year I was on a diet(more a changed eating regime), I substituted all the foods I liked that were bad for me for foods that I liked and that could do some good. Did quite a bit of research prior to doing this to ensure I ate the foods that would give me all the necessary vitamins and minerals. I ate a what I thought was a balanced diet, I substituted fish for meat, didn't eat any fried/roast foods and ate no fatty foods. I drank enough water, but after 6 weeks I started to feel a bit anxious, I cut out caffeinated drinks and put even more variety into the diet. But the anxiety increased, it was a linear increase day on day, than after about 7 weeks night muscle spasms and cramps started. Then my fingers would cramp during the day. I was desperate to stay on the healthier diet but I was getting no sleep and the anxiety was overpowering. Two weeks after abandoning the diet all the symptoms dissipated? So I'll be interested in the answers you get.

As far as anxiety is concerned, doing something that you enjoy is tremendously helpful. I happen to cook alot and truly enjoy it. Cooking is me like painting or sculpting is to some other people. I have found that if I have a hard day or am feeling down I cook a nice meal for myself. When I put it on a plate, I make sure the presentation is pleasant to look at. I then eat the meal slowly and enjoy what I created. Keep in mind that macaroni and cheese is just effective as a filet mingon. Learn to eat for more than just sustenance
This may not help you sleep, but it will calm your nerves and that may lead to a more restful night.

Read Matthew 15:11 (Mark 7:20; James 3:6) It is not what goes into the mouth that defileth man. Rather it's what comes out the mouth that defileth. So, watch what you say more than what you eat. That should clear up the 'anxiety' (fear, torment) part. Now, about the 'obesessions' part: "concupiscence". Paul The Apostle tried "another law", notably "the second" in Mt 22:36-40; And it notably made him feel "wretched": Romans 7; Not to mention the first made J feel "forsaken" in Mt 27. So then, Paul calls this law thing: "concupiscence", which tempts you, along with an overwhelming desire, to do the very things forbidden, things you would not do; And then afterward hounds you with guilt for having done it. So then, the law tempts, entraps, guilt trips many a sucker. But God neither tempts(laws) nor can be tempted(lawed). You can read about the "God" part in James, chapter one. Right now, let's focus on "evil concupiscence": root cause. Such is common, even among priests, PTSD-ers, etc etc. The solution is awareness, then flushing awful lawful dung. The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

Maybe try some herbal tea such as camomile. I've heard that chocolate, if taken in moderation, can actually help you feel better. "Now, researchers have found that eating chocolate... causes the brain to release endorphins, chemicals that make us feel good."

You can have decaff tea, there is no need to cut it out. Dont eat after 6pm as your body uses energy to digest food and this may stop you sleeping.
