Why wont my cat come to me when I call him?
all he seems to want to do is bob lazily up and down in the pond I think he hates me

He's just relaxing. It'll be ok.. I promise........ Don't go swimming for a while, though.

I have 3 male cats and have had many other cats in the past. My past experiences with them lead me to believe that a cat want only to be cuddled or loved on when THEY want to be loved on. My cats love to eat, sleep, eat, sleep, eat sleep and loved on when they are good and ready. I have had a cat that was so lovable, it was a pest! Male cats seem to think they rule the world but I love them anyway.

It's a CAT, not a dog! Cat's only come to you when they feel like it (which is usually when you DON'T want them to be around.)
Just enjoy your cat's personality. It is doing just what it is supposed to be doing.

Mostly because he is MALE and has a mind no one can change but him. I've owned 2 males, and my current one is the _last_ male I'll ever own. And they have to "explore" everything including a toilet bowl if the lid is open. NO MORE males for me!!
