Do you have any other symptoms? It sounds like it is normal heartburn, but it definitely could be related to stress and anxiety. I've also heard that an injury, such as a broken rib, can cause chest burning.
Sometimes burning in the chest can be related to a heart attack, but if you're a heath 22-year-old and you're not experiencing throbing pain or shortness of breath, it's probably not serious.

If it's a problem caused by something you ate, then sure, take antacid type med.
But, if it continues, it sounds like acid reflux which is much more serious. For most folks, medication will relieve the symptoms
but not cure the problem.
Acid reflux can be caused by a number of things and it's not
impossible to figure it out on your own. There is so much information available online.
here a some home remedies you can try for relief:
Eat smaller, lighter meals
Sleep on your left side
Elevated the head of your bed about 6-8"
Balance your good bacteria/bad bacteria ratio but eating more live cultured yogurt or kefir
Eat a small piece of organic orange peel- chew it well and swallow- do this whenever the symptoms appear. This one worked for me!
Trigger foods I can't eat anymore- chocolate, coffee, tea, barbeque ribs! lol

Classic heartburn (acid reflux). Acid from your stomach that gets to your osphegus (see the web link) causes a burning feeling and not pleasant. Age is not a factor but rather it affects some people more than others.
I get it relatively lightly and certain foods or drinks can cause it. With me white wine can cause me to suffer a bout of it.
I do not know if you can get Gaviscon or not where you live but it is a pleasant liquid you drink it works wonders and instantly takes the heartburn away. If you do suffer common bad bouts you should see a doctor as you can have other medical problems accuring if you leave it.
Yes stress can be a cause and certain lifesyle and recent diet and if it is rare then it is just one of those things that will pass.

Heartburn!!! Scared me to death the first time I experienced it. I was 23 and at work and I thought I was dying. Pepcid AC or Tagament will help along with a huge glass of water. Yes, it could be from stress or something different you are eating. Or, your body is just changing.

Its heartburn I get it all the time. Taking Tums helps alot if you dont have tums take some pepto bismol. Otherwise drink some milk or eat a peppermint for temporary relief. Stay away from caffeine for now it only makes it worse.

Sounds like acid reflux to me...but I would see my doctor ASAP, just in case. If it is acid reflux you won't be able to eat acid producing foods anymore such as tomato sauce or fried foods even coffee and tea. SEE YOUR DOCTOR don't get medical opinions on the internet for goodness sake its a dangerous practice to get into.
