My mom is my dad mother's sister daughter so they r 1st cousins...is this a problem?

I am 18 and i got lil sis who is 11....i didn't knw my parents r cousins till i was 12....some ppl say it's a big problem but everything is fine for both my sister and me....but some ppl feel bad abt that....wht do u think????

This need not be a problem for you. Marriage between 1st cousins used to be quite common and certainly acceptable. However, it has been banned in most states for the reason that it greatly increases the risks of passing genetically based health problems that only manifest when both parents have the problem gene and pass it on to their offspring. This same risk can also occur with couples who are in no way related, but staying within the same gene pool increases the risks significantly. If you and your sister are healthy, then you can just forget about it and live your life.

Morally this is no problem at all. Cousins marry all the time! Some people believes it's incest, but they are very wrong. Incest is direct family like brothers and sister, or sister and father, etc. The only problem that can occur is if there are serious defects in the family, like bone diseases or other tendencies, the risk of giving it to your children is higher where the parents are cousins.
